At the beginning of 2022, director and artist Ksenia Shachneva was given the opportunity to create her work in the newly opened contemporary art space GES-2 in Moscow.

However, with the outbreak of the war—a moment that shook the world and left everyone in shock—Ksenia decided to forgo her original project. Instead, she created an interactive performance and invited ten other artists to participate, offering them the space to develop practices aimed at supporting themselves and others.

I was one of these artists. My contribution was an interactive karaoke piece, where visitors were invited to sing the well-known anti-war song "Where Have All the Flowers Gone". They could choose to perform in one of three languages—English, German, or Russian—and decide whether to sing alone or together with me.

As a backdrop for the karaoke subtitles, I used a live view of the Kremlin, which was just around the corner from the venue.
