Long-Distance Gallery
An online gallery for long-distance friends who are also artists
2019
In early 2019, just before the birth of my second child, I was afraid of being socially cut off from my friends and the art community for the second time. To stay connected and keep up with what my artist friends were working on, I created an online gallery called Long Distance Gallery—a reference to long-distance relationships, a term often used to describe relationships maintained across physical distances.
About a year later, COVID emerged, further increasing the distance between loved ones. I shared the gallery’s password, allowing artists to log in and post between 6 and 18 entries about their work.
The gallery, which has been on pause since January 2022, originally existed only in Russian, but it will be hopefully relaunched in a new reality—in English.
