Performance about Co-depended Body
2023 - work in progress
In 2023, I began developing the idea of a performance in which I combine two themes: the experience of codependent relationships with my mother (she was an alcoholic), and the experience of Russians' relationship with their motherland after the start of the war with Ukraine. For the second part, I interviewed 12 people, for the first part I created a score based on memories from my childhood and bodily responses related to trauma. The questions I pose: whether to stay in these relationships or leave, to continue staying silent or speak up, to continue the pattern received during destructive relationships, or to try to heal oneself, to try to help others or just live one's own life.
The performance is being created with support from the Pro Helvetia foundation as part of a program for exchange of experience between Swiss and Russian choreographers.
A work in progress version was shown in the extended library of HfbK in July 2024.
